About outpost

A frontier station for the Orbit fleet.

Outpost is the directory of Orbit Ventures portfolio companies. A gathering point at the edge of known space — somewhere to find your crew, log your status, and request a hand before the next leg of the journey.

Every company gets a mission patch, a profile, and a place on the map. Founders claim their patch, post intro requests, and discover other portcos. The numbers are kept fresh by Kuration, an Orbit portfolio company.

Why the badge

Mission patches were never about decoration.

Since Gemini V in 1965, every NASA crew has designed an emblem for their flight. A circular shorthand for who flew, where, and what they were trying to do. Stitched into the suit. Carried home. Worn for the rest of a career.

The patch is the atomic unit of mission identity. It survives the press cycle, the rebrand, the org chart. It belongs to the crew, not the agency.

Each company in Orbit's fleet gets one. Generated once, claimed by the founder, and pinned to a profile that lives here for as long as the company does.

Designed by the crew. The eagle, the olive branch, the Earth in a black sky. No names. The mission spoke for itself.

“You collect them across a career — every flight, every crew, every long-duration tour. By the end, the suit tells the story.”

How it works

A directory, a patch, a way to ask for help.

01

Discover the fleet

Browse every Orbit portfolio company on the directory or the world map. Search in plain English — sector, stage, geography, hiring signal — and let the model translate intent into filters.

02

Claim your patch

Founders verify by email. Once claimed, the profile is yours to update — team, links, status — and the patch is yours to regenerate if the original doesn't sit right.

03

Request a warm intro

Post a structured ask — who you need, what for, and a forward-ready paragraph. The board routes it to the portcos and GPs best placed to help. Email-mediated, never chat.

Per aspera ad astra.
